New Art Exhibition and Open reception “Light Shines and Other Musings” The Latest Works of A. Neil Folloso
Living in the United States, Apolinario Neil Folloso is one of the important Filipino visual artists in the diaspora today. An electrical engineer by academic training, but he chose to become an artist—not only as a profession but a lifetime vocation. Through his works, Folloso was able to show the beauty of the world, using a different lens. As we all know, an artist has a different take or interpretation of reality. As he creates something on his canvas, he is not merely mimicking the reality; rather, he attempts to show different realities, how these realities exist, side by side, and how these realities interact with each other.
Meanwhile, as Folloso works on his paintings, he has one thing in mind—and that is to soothe the mind and the soul of his audience. Moreover, his art is but a continuous quest for joy and happiness, sourced from things that are natural and man-made. Because of this, we can say that Folloso indeed is one of the Filipino artists in the diaspora who is worthy of our attention.
