Still Life workshop with artist Natalia Andreeva

(one, two or three days, 3 hours each day): Febr. 10, 11, 12 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Wet-on-wet, or alla prima, direct painting or au premier coup, is a painting technique in which layers of wet paint are applied to previously administered layers of wet paint. Used mostly in oil painting, the technique requires a fast way of working, because the work has to be finished before the first layers have dried.

This workshop is design to help you to see colors better. We will paint from a simple Still Life via Alla Prima. Alla Prima paintings are quick and are completed in one session while the paint is still wet. You will learn how to evaluate the tonal values of color, spots, shapes and the direction of light. It is recommended that students have previous drawing experience in some medium.
