Tetyana Aleksenko’s Bio

Tetyana Aleksenko is a Ukrainian-born pastel artist who now lives and works in The Woodlands, Texas. Tetyana gets inspired by Texan nature, by its beauty, and an endless variety of shapes and forms. She believes that her mission as an artist is to find unusual aspects of everyday life and to add a little more joy and beauty to this world.

Tetyana Aleksenko has always loved drawing and painting but spent most of her adult life working in the biomedical field. Tetyana’s journey as a pastelist started in 2020 when she discovered Unison pastels and could not stop painting after that. She has studied academic drawing, composition, watercolor, pastel, and oil painting in an online art school and is a student of well-known pastel artists Elena Tatkina and Irina Klimova. Tetyana is a member of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas and was voted to be a board member starting in 2023. She continues to attend pastel workshops and demos of other artists to improve her artistic skills and learn new techniques.

Tetyana Aleksenko started showing and selling her artwork in April 2022 during the Arts for Rural Texas Exhibition in Fayetteville, Texas. Since then, she has actively participated in local and national pastel exhibitions and competitions. She recently won second place at the 3rd International Winter Show at Degallery (Bryan, Texas) and her paintings can be found in private collections.
