The Journey of Degallery: From a Dream to a Global Art Hub
When Dary Dega moved to Texas ten years ago, she left behind not just a successful career in Eastern Europe and Russia, but a life filled with culture, art, and professional achievements. Starting fresh in a new country was challenging—she faced language barriers, culture shock, and the difficulty of finding work that matched her expertise. Amid these struggles, she turned to a lifelong passion that had always brought her joy: art.
As she painted and sketched to lift her spirits, she noticed something missing in her new hometown—a professional, high-quality art studio and gallery. There was no place where she or her daughter could immerse themselves in the arts, no space where local artists could showcase their work, and no hub for creative minds to gather and grow. A friend, seeing Dary’s natural talent for teaching and inspiring others, encouraged her to open her own gallery.
At first, the idea seemed impossible. She was still learning English, had just welcomed her second child, and knew nothing about running a business in the U.S. But her determination to turn the impossible into reality pushed her forward. With a dream bigger than her fears, she opened Degallery in 2016, creating a space where people of all ages and backgrounds could celebrate art.

What started as a local dream has now become a global reality. Degallery has earned a reputation as one of the best art galleries and studios in the region, with its reach extending far beyond Texas. Today, it stands as a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the belief that art can change lives.
